COSTA Coffee in Grantham’s Isaac Newton Shopping Centre will close its doors on Sunday afternoon ready for a total refurbishment.

The town centre coffee shop will close at 3pm on Sunday before re-opening on Wednesday at 10am.

Nicola Meadows, of Costa in Grantham, said the work was not part of a nationwide refurbishment of chains but specific to Grantham.

She added: “It’s going to be a complete refurbishment – everything is going to be completely different.

“We’ve been open in Grantham for five years now and some things like the tables are looking a bit worn now so we’re looking forward to it.

“There will be a new counter, new carpets, new fittings, new coffee machines – new everything really.”

The store is even selling off some of the artwork on the coffee shop walls in the hope of raising money for the company’s own charity, which is called the Costa Coffee Foundation.
