The Rotary Club of Grantham has appointed a new president.

More than 100 people attend a ceremony at the Ramada Hotel in Grantham where Kevin Lawry took over from outgoing president Irvin Metcalf.

Mr Lawry said: “I am really looking forward to leading it into 2014. My main aim is to engage further with the people of Grantham so that we can continue to support organisations and individuals in our community.

“I am especially keen that we focus on the young people who are our future, both in school projects and with our worldwide Youth Exchange programme.

“I am particularly excited to be taking over as we approach the 25th Anniversary of our hugely successful Rotary Swimarathon”
