Engineering works mean no trains will run between Retford and Peterborough on the East Coast line tomorrow (Saturday).

The line will be closed tomorrow and until 12.30pm on Sunday. Most trains will be diverted between Doncaster and Peterborough via Lincoln Central. Buses will run between Doncaster, Retford and Peterborough. Journey times will be extended by up to 90 minutes.

East Midlands Trains services between Liverpool Lime Street and Norwich are diverted and will not call at Grantham. Passengers travelling between Liverpool Lime Street and Peterborough/Norwich will have to change trains at Nottingham.

Passengers for Grantham should use trains to/from Skegness. Additional buses will run between Nottingham and Grantham.

Virgin Trains take over the running of the East Coast line from Sunday after the Government handed it the franchise which will be run together with Stagecoach. The franchise has been publicly run since 2009.
