‘No ban on flag of St George’
RUMOURS of a ban on England flags and shirts during the World Cup are way off the mark say police and the district council.
Sparked by internet gossip, many people have become convinced they will not be allowed to wear England colours or put up flags.
But the rumours are completely untrue.
Lincolnshire Police spokesman James Newall said: “We have no interest whatsoever in what people wear when watching matches.
“It has never been on our radar to stop people wearing whatever they want to matches.
SKDC’s environmental protection service manager, Mike Brown said: “These rumours are unfounded we have no plans to stop people from flying flags in pubs or wearing football shirts.”
