Mr Adrian Hicks has died at home. He was 59.

Born in Norwich, his family later moved to Bottesford.

He has two sisters and a brother. He is pre-deceased by his sister Denise.

Mr Hicks attended school in Bottesford and Melton Mowbray.

After school he began work at Else Painting and Decorating before becoming self-employed in 1983.

While living in Bottesford he met Christine and they married in 1983, setting up home in the village.

Their daughter, Caroline, was born while they were living there.

After 12 years the family moved to Sedgebrook.

Mr Hicks’ main hobbies were fishing and supporting Nottingham Forest Football Club. He had a passion for both, and he spent weekends away, fishing at Caistor and Hubberts Bridge.

Family holidays were spent on the canal network, which included Leeds/Liverpool and Oxford.

Mr Hicks enjoyed spending time with his family, which also included his daughter, son-in-law Neal and grandchildren, Joshua and Alexia.

He had to retire from painting and decorating around a year ago due to ill health.

The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by the Rev Stuart Hadley.

Funeral arrangements were by William Roberts and Sons, Devon Lane, Bottesford.
