Mr Brian William Dable, of Allington, has died in Lincoln County Hospital. He was 83.
The only son of Bill and Doris Dable, he was born at Belton Lane, Grantham.
He leaves his wife Betty, daughters Carole and Elaine, sons-in-law Trevor and Ricky, grandchildren Rebecca, Michael, Steve and Jay, great-grandchildren Madison, Joe and Imogen and sisters Eileen, Barbara, Muriel and their families.
After leaving the National School he did his apprenticeship at Aveling Barford.
He then joined the Royal Engineers and served for three years.
After leaving the Army he joined Grantham Road Services as a lorry driver and remained with the company for 40 years until his retirement in 1996.
Mr Dable loved spending time with his family and friends.
His interests were birdwatching and wildlife and he enjoyed a pint.
Robert Holland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.
