Mr Colin Roy Bennett, of Canterbury Close, Grantham, has died in St Edmunds Nursing Home, Worcester Road, Grantham. He was 74.

He was born at the family home in Walton Gardens, Grantham, one of five children and the son of Betsy and Roy Bennett. He was brother to Ivor, Beryl, Mavis and Graham.

Mr Bennett attended Huntingtower School and Spitalgate Boys’ School.

Married to Julie, he has three sons, Kevin, Jonathan and Martin. He was father-in-law to Michelle and Kate and grandad to Aidan, Shannon, Lauren, Drew, Sasha, Ella and Keira.

Mr Bennett worked at Bjorlows, Grantham, where he met his much-loved wife, Julie. He later worked at Vacu-Lug.

His interests included keeping and racing pigeons and kart racing with his sons. He also enjoyed his fish pond.

The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by Robert Holland.

Harby, Gordon Lloyd, Doris Murr, Eileen Yeates, Martin Barnes, Mark Brown, Richard and Sally Pedley, Robert Thompson, Diane Penn-Berkeley, and Simon and Sue Cooper.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.

Donations were received for Macmillan Cancer Support.
