Mr David George Fardell (Dave), of Queensway, Grantham, has died at home. He was 79.

He was born in Grantham, the son of Jack and Gladys Fardell.

He was the widower of the late Jean Fardell and father to Kim, Dean, Lee and Lisa, grandfather to Heidi, Kristian, Ellie, Roxanne, Naomi, Callum, Chloe, Myles and Scarlet and great-grandad to Darcey, Oscar, Ellis and Sonnie.

He married Jean at St John’s Church, Grantham, in 1958.

His National Service was spent in Tripoli.

Mr Fardell worked as a digger and crane driver on many projects throughout the UK. He retired at the age of 72.

He most recently had a part-time job at KCM, where he helped out with odd jobs and maintenance.

Mr Fardell was a keen angler with Grantham Angling Association. He was also an excellent gardener and also enjoyed reading historical books and socialising.

The Rev David Shenton conducted the funeral service at St John’s Church, Grantham. Cremation followed.
