Mr Dennis Herbert Price (Den), of Avon Close, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. He was 84.

Born in 1929, in Williams Place, Grantham, he was the son of the late Arthur and Ruth Price. He had a younger brother, Kenneth.

Mr Price was a devoted husband to Edna and doting father to Anthony, Lorraine and Stephen.

He was called up for National Service at the age of 19. After leaving the Army he began working for Fosters. He then went on to work for Kontak.

In 1953 he married Edna. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

The couple shared a keen interest in motorcycles and Mr Price also enjoyed watching Formula One motor racing and Moto GP.

They gave up their interest in motorcycles when their children came along.

Mr Price spent most of his spare time doing DIY and gardening for the family.

In 1984 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s which was devastating for someone so active. As the illness worsened he was unable to continue doing what he loved best but he was not one to complain.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
