Mr Derek Anthony Lloyd (known as Del Boy), of Durham Close, Grantham, has died at home. He was 77.

Born in Grantham Hospital on February 12, 1938, he was the eldest child of Alfred and Winifred Lloyd.

He was brother to Gordon, Graham and Glenda.

Mr Lloyd attended Huntingtower Road County Primary School, followed by The Boys’ Central School.

They had a daughter, Diane and their family grew with the addition of son-in-law, Keith, and granddaughter Lauren.

After leaving school Mr Lloyd did an apprenticeship at Ruston and Hornsby, as a turner.

In 1959 he began his National Service in the Army, first based in Kensington, until being posted to Cyprus.

Mr Lloyd had worked in various factories in the town, including Steelweld, Kontaks and BMARC. He finally worked at Padley’s, from where he retired.
