Mr Frank Railton, of Rosemary Crescent, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. He was 83.
Born in Lancaster, Lancashire, he was the son of Percy and Flo Railton.
His three brothers have predeceased him and he is survived by his sister Barbara.
Mr Railton leaves his wife Brenda, children Steve, May and Neil, daughters-in-law Jenny and Bev and son-in-law Stephen. He has eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
From the age of 14 Mr Railton worked on a farm. He then served in the Royal Air Force for five years until joining the Police Force, having worked in both Lancashire and Lincolnshire for 30 years.
His interests included golf, football, cricket, painting and art.
The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by Christine Malkin.

Baxter.
Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
