Mr Kenneth Clark, of Swinstead, has died in Stamford Hospital. He was 87.

He was born in Leeds and moved to Castle Bytham with his family.

At the age of 17 he joined the Army.

He married Joan in 1952 and they moved into the house where they lived for 62 years until his death.

Mr Clark was a good gardener and was interested in wildlife. He enjoyed following the hunt in the local area.

Latterly Mr Clark did not enjoy good health but he was always interested to hear news from visitors about local events.

Canon Andy Hawes conducted the funeral service at Swinstead Church. Burial followed in Swinstead churchyard.

Family mourners included: Joan Clark, Marion Clark, Pat and Ernie Pearson, Dorothy and Wensly Cole, John and Wendy Beet, Stephen and Jo Beet, James Beet, Jane and Roger Hipperson, Andrea Beet and Phil Morehen.

Spencer, Dick Wood, Kath Clarke, Janet Kirkwood, Henry Smith, Maureen Smith, Michael Lyon, Mr A. C. Percival, Mrs A. M. Percival, Elsie and Peter Kiely, Ray Cousins, Margaret Smith, Lesley Clayton, Judith Wilkinson, Clive and Mollie Lunn, Margaret Twigg, Ethel Brown, Pat Wright, Jo Yates, Dawn Rutherford and Anne Price.

Funeral arrangements were by T. R. Carlton Funeral Directors, Abbey Road, Bourne.
