Mr Royston Morris Smith, of Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. He was 89.
Mr Smith was born in Stathern, at the farm which is now the site of Dove Cottage Hospice.
For most of his life he lived in Stathern, before moving to Grantham in 1999 on his retirement.
Mr Smith lived for his family and the farm which he built up with his wife Irene, who he married in 1945. They have two children, Graham and Elaine, four grandsons, Matthew, Jason, Iain and Andrew and five great-grandchildren.
The committal service took place at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, followed by a Thanksgiving service at St Guthlac’s Church, Stathern. Both services were conducted by the Rev Frederick Connell.

Funeral arrangements were by William Roberts and Sons, Devon Lane, Bottesford.
