Mr Robert Adam Jack, of Mount Street, Grantham, has died at home. He was 57.

Mr Jack was born in Kinglassie, Fife, Scotland, the son of Adam and Jean. The family lived in Fife until moving to Rossington when he was aged six. He had a happy childhood.

At the age of 23 he met his first wife Val, and they moved to Grantham. They had three children, Sarah, Kelly and Matthew. In 1993 their son was diagnosed with cancer and it was a tough two years for the family. The couple separated nine months before Matthew sadly lost his battle.

Mr Jack went on to meet Sue and they were married a year later. They enjoyed holidays and family occasions.

He was overjoyed when his youngest daughter presented him with his first grandson in 1999. Between them the couple had 10 grandchildren who they adored.

Mr Jack leaves his wife Sue, daughters Sarah and Kelly, stepson Nathan and grandchildren Dominic, Alanya, Caitlin, James, Lizzie, Heidi, James, Lilly, Poppy and Stanley. He is reunited with his parents, son and stepdaughter Marcelle.

Mr Jack worked in the Navy for about three years, before taking employment in the pits. He had also worked at John Lees, American Can, and as a taxi driver, landlord of public houses, factory worker, and most recently as a security guard.

He enjoyed walking his dog, garden and most sports, especially football.

Robert Holland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.
