Mrs Audrey Mavis Minkley has died in Newton House Nursing Home, Grantham. She was 83.
Born in Cropwell Bishop, Nottinghamshire, she had a younger sister, Irene. She was educated at the village school.
She met her future husband, Dennis, known as Mink, at a village dance and they were married in 1950. They first lived in Plungar then moved to Bottesford in 1956.
She and her husband enjoyed holidays spent on the south coast and gardening.
Mrs Minkley worked as a secretary, firstly for W. J. Roberts and then Bullock and Driffill, remaining there until well after usual retirement age. She enjoyed visits to and from family.
An active member of Bottesford Methodist Chapel she generally helped with all aspects of chapel life, especially baking and making jams for fund-raising events. She also enjoyed being part of the village Churches Together holiday club.
Sadly her husband died in August 2008 and she moved into Newton House Nursing Home.
The funeral service was held at Bottesford Methodist Chapel, conducted by the Rev Lesley Taylor. Cremation followed in Grantham.

Funeral arrangements were by William Roberts and Sons, Devon Lane, Bottesford.
