Mrs Edna Goodliffe, of Market Court, South Witham, has died at home. She was 93.

Born in South Witham, she was the eldest daughter of Stan and Eva Wise.

She was married to Stan for 57 years. He predeceased her in 1999. They had two children, a daughter Maureen and a son who died at birth.

Mrs Goodliffe was caretaker at South Witham School for many years. She was also warden at a sheltered housing scheme in Grantham.

Her interest was her garden, she loved spending time in it and maintained it until ill health prevented her from doing this. She also liked to feed the birds that came into her garden and would watch them every day.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to her.

The Rev Tom Broadbent conducted the funeral service at St John the Baptist Church, South Witham. Cremation followed in Grantham.

Funeral arrangements were by Geesons Funeral Directors, Westgate, Grantham.
