Mrs Eileen Rose Dennis, of Brookside, Ancaster, has died in Grantham Hospital following a short illness. She was 84.

Mrs Dennis was born near Algerkirk, Boston, Lincolnshire. She was the last of nine children to survive into adulthood.

In 1950 she married Ted. He predeceased her in 1998.

Mrs Dennis leaves five children, Martin, Janette, Mark, Joanne and Neil, and two grandchildren, Nola and Tristan.

She worked on local farms until her children were grown up then worked at Kempton’s in Grantham.

She enjoyed travel and taking holidays with her friends and family.

Mrs Dennis was an accomplished baker and a devoted mum.

The Rev Alan Littlewood conducted the funeral service at St Martin’s Church, Ancaster. Burial followed in Ancaster cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were by Co-operative Funeralcare, Bridge End Road, Grantham.

Donations to be divided between the Stroke Association and the British Heart Foundation amount to £418 to date.
