Mrs Gladys Mary Chandler, has died in Aslockton Hall Nursing Home, Aslockton, Nottinghamshire. She was 98.
Born at Beckingthorpe Farm, Bottesford, she was the third child of William and Beatrice Goodson.
Following her marriage to Bill Chandler, they made their home at Evergreen Farm, Redmile.
In 1944 they moved to Manor Farm, Muston. They had two children, Robert (deceased) and Peter, followed by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Her mother died when she was young and instead of going out to work, she stayed at home to cook for her father and younger sisters.
Mrs Chandler loved the countryside and in her early married life she kept chickens, geese and reared the occasional pig.
Her other interests were embroidery and tapestry and she enjoyed knitting items for her grandchildren.
Judith Wells conducted the funeral service at St John the Baptist Church, Muston. Burial followed.

E. Taylor, Carol Crooks and Robert Donger.
Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
