Mrs Gladys Jean North, of Belvoir Gardens, Great Gonerby, has died in Newton House Nursing Home, Barrowby Road, Grantham. She was 76.

Born in College Street, Grantham, she was the daughter of Fred and Edith Watmore and the youngest of their 11 children.

During her working life Mrs North had worked at International Stores in High Street, Grantham; Newbold and Burton shoe factory on Dysart Road, Grantham; Ransome and Marles Engineering, Newark on Trent, and BMARC munitions factory in Grantham.

The Rev John Bruce conducted the funeral service at St Sebastian’s Church, Great Gonerby. Burial took place at Hill Top Cemetery in Great Gonerby.

Family mourners included: Bryan North, Sheree King, Paul King, Daniella Crossland and Georgina Crossland.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.

Donations were received for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
