Mrs Mary Vickers, of Brick Kiln Place, Grantham, has died in Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. She was 82.

Born in Market Deeping, Lincolnshire, she was the daughter of Robert and Kathleen Harrison.

She later moved to Bourne and in 1996 she moved to Grantham.

She was the widow of the late Leonard Vickers, mother to Elizabeth, mother-in-law to David and grandma to Sarah and Jonathan.

Mrs Vickers had worked in Peterborough as a typist for an insurance company. She then worked in a packaging factory in Bourne, and was later employed at a lingerie company.

Her interests included cooking, especially cakes, reading, knitting and watching crime series and costume dramas.

The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by Robert Holland.

Other than the immediate family, mourners included: Willa Vickers, Stephen Vickers, Carol Vickers, Paul and Mandy Vickers, Joan Vickers, Mr and Mrs Ridlington, Shirley Ridlington, Tracey Warren, Amanda Pick, Clare Barrett-Bentley, Sarah Atkin, Marilyn Withers, Beverley Bell, Susan Brewin, Teresa Curtis, Terry and Pam Palethorpe, Donna Overton, Mrs D. Moon, Mr A. Perry, Mr and Mrs D. Sissins, Ian Cunningham, Neville and Kate Vickers, Grace Charles, Alison Charles, Tom Charles, Jane and Betty Elliott, Nina Preston, Dorothy Vickers and Sheila Cooper.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.

Donations were received for The Willow Foundation.
