Mrs Ruby May Walker, of Canterbury Close, Grantham, has died at home. She was 92.
Born in Grantham, she was the daughter of the late George and Maria Welbourn.
She was educated at Spitalgate School and on leaving school she went into service in Nottingham.
In 1940 she met her future husband, Stan, and they were married in May after a whirlwind romance.
The couple lived in Nottingham and then returned to Grantham where they lived during the Second World War, when Stan served in the Royal Air Force.
Mrs Walker devoted her life to raising their seven children, Linda, Brenice, George, John, Colin, Janice and Julie.
Her husband predeceased her in 1991.
Her interests included knitting, baking, decorating and gardening. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved going on holidays.
Mrs Walker lived life to the full, enjoying her life with independence and determination. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was always there when needed.
The funeral service was held at St John’s Church, Grantham, followed by burial in Grantham cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were by Co-operative Funeralcare, Bridge End Road, Grantham.
