Mrs Rosaria Zammit, of Covill Close, Great Gonerby, has died in Grantham Hospital. She was 90.
Born in Malta, she had five brothers and two sisters and was the last surviving sibling.
In 1943 she married Eugino Pitre. Mr Pitre predeceased her in 1978.
She married for the second time in 1984, to Paul Zammit. He predeceased her in 1995.
After suffering ill health she came to England in 2005, to be close to her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Steve Wix, who cared for her.
During the 1960s and ‘70s she worked in the tailoring industry in the UK. She returned to Malta in the early 1970s and retired from work.
Mrs Zammit enjoyed making clothes, knitting and reading. She also loved spending time with her family.
Canon Anthony Dolan conducted the funeral service at St Mary’s RC Church, Grantham. Burial followed in Grantham Cemetery.
Family mourners included: Maria and Stephen Wix, Tessie and Joe Grima, Mario and Doris Pitre, Simone and Mario Attard, Denise and Lawrence Grech, Kevin Grima, Sacha and Jenny Wix, Ruth and Paul Greep, Marica, Michela and Jean Paul Attard, Alessandro, Julio and Ena Mai Grech, Olner and Poppy Wix, Alex and Charlotte Greep. There were also other family members in Malta.
Other mourners included: Mrs G. Martin, Mr and Mrs D. Blankley, Mrs S. Armstead, Mr and Mrs Bean, Mrs N. Conneely, Mr and Mrs D. Mahoney, Capt and Mrs Oliver Lynch, Mr I. Gibson, Mr and Mrs P. Rice, plus others who were unable to attend the service.
Funeral arrangements were by Geesons Funeral Directors, Westgate, Grantham.
