Mrs Sylvia Christine Harte, of Buckminster Gardens, Grantham, has died in Newton House Care Home, aged 81.
Born in Alexandra Road, Grantham, she was the only daughter of Ernest and Sylvia Dickinson. She was married to Kevin for 59 years, and was mother to Graham, grandmother to Gemma and Ayrton and great-grandmother to Ebony, Livia and James.
Mrs Harte started work at Aveling Barford before her 14th birthday. Two years later she was employed by Grantham Borough Police which amalgamated with Lincolnshire Constabulary. She served for 47 years and took only 34 days sick leave.
Mrs Harte was awarded the British Empire Medal in 1992 and received the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal in 1977.
She took great interest in her family and enjoyed whist drives and socialising.
Robert Holland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
