Mrs Shirley Brooks, of The Grange, Grantham, has died in Lincoln County Hospital. She was 53.

Born in Grantham, she was the second youngest child of the late Stanley and Meriona Wharton. She was sister to Stan, Tom (deceased), Anne, Jane and Geoff Wharton.

Mrs Brooks had two daughters, Stacey Clark and Kelly Fitzpatrick and six grandchildren, Jay, Travis, Jared, Isabella, Chloe and Emily.

During her working life she had been employed at many of the pubs around the town, including The Nags Head and The White Lion.

Her interests included darts, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Robert Holland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
