Mrs Winifred Done, of Derwent Road, Grantham, has died in Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. She was 93.

Born in Thistleton, near Grantham, she was the daughter of Anne and Charles Branston and sister to Kath, Fred, Edie and Elsie.

She was married to William, who predeceased her in 1990. She has five children, Terry, Pamela, Roy, Peter and Tricia.

Mrs Done went into service at Denton Manor before moving on to Harlaxton Manor, where she was in service for Mrs Van-der-Elst. It was there that she met William. In her earlier years she used to love knitting and latterly she enjoyed listening to music.

The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by Robert Holland.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.

Donations were received for the British Heart Foundation and the Stroke Association.
