24/10/08 - HGV driver drove up on to the path

Whilst walking my dog down Swingbridge Road and turning left into Harlaxton Road, an HGV decided to mount the pavement which we were on just to avoid standing in queueing traffic.

Whilst walking my dog down Swingbridge Road and turning left into Harlaxton Road, an HGV decided to mount the pavement which we were on just to avoid standing in queueing traffic. Although I am visually impaired and always walk with my dog to the left of me as instinct, Iwas left traumatised by the incident. The lorry failed to stop. In my opinion, it is the drivers of vehicles who need to drive more safely. I always thought HGV drivers to be the safest on our roads. Not any more.
