Do you know the Hutchinsons?
I would like to ask your readers if anyone has memories or photographs of Grantham's mayor Mr Arthur Hutchinson or his sister Eliza Hutchinson. Eliza was born at Manthorpe Lodge, Grantham. She moved to York and married John Gutch in 1868.
I would like to ask your readers if anyone has memories or photographs of Grantham's mayor Mr Arthur Hutchinson or his sister Eliza Hutchinson.
Eliza was born at Manthorpe Lodge, Grantham. She moved to York and married John Gutch in 1868.She was responsible for saving York's only windmill and we would like to find out more about her and her family.
I also believe she is descended from John Fowler Burbidge, another mayor. The roads around the mill are named for her - Grantham Drive and Manthorpe Walk.
