Here's how I would spend £40,000 - and not on an expensive pavement
FIRST our MPs are taking us for a ride with their expenses claims, now it is our County Council who are taking us for a very costly ride (over the cost of repaving the Conduit area of Grantham).
FIRST our MPs are taking us for a ride with their expenses claims, now it is our County Council who are taking us for a very costly ride (over the cost of repaving the Conduit area of Grantham).Just think what 40,000 could have been used for instead of a pavement outside a disused public toilet! For example:
l 40,000 could provide a much-needed play area for the children of Barrowby Gate and other areas in Grantham who have no play facilities whatsoever.
l 40,000 could be used to inject money into our dying High Street - please no more charity shops or estate agents !!
l 40,000 could pay for a much needed refurbishment of The Meres Leisure Centre.
l 40,000 could pay for urgent traffic calming measures to be installed on Winchester Road before a child is killed - residents have been appealing for 10 years for this to happen.
l 40,000 would pay for a kitchen to be built at my children's school to provide them with the cooked dinners the government has promised every child will have.
Is the council going to install signposts for all of the so-called "tourists" to direct them to the "most expensive pavement in Lincolnshire".
Now there's a tourist spot they will be queuing up to see!!!!
