Grantham Journal letter: Let offenders clean streets as pay-back

A television set lies among the rubbish left in the alley between Oxford Street and College Street.

A television set lies among the rubbish left in the alley between Oxford Street and College Street.

I live in Rycroft Street and my property is blighted by neighbours who fail to maintain their parking spaces to an acceptable level, most are overgrown.

The street itself has not been cleaned for several weeks. There is broken glass all over.

Brewery Hill is a complete mess with buddleia growing out of the brickwork of the former Mowbray Brewery.

Rubbish has accumulated to an unacceptable level.

I have reported this to the council.

How about offenders, who are sentenced at the Magistrates’ Court with community penalties, being put to good use!
