Nazi ideology at the heart of BNP
The BNP has made attempts to ditch its thuggish image and present itself as a more 'respectable' party.
The BNP has made attempts to ditch its thuggish image and present itself as a more 'respectable' party.Presumably being a "believing Christian" (what's a disbelieving one?) is meant to help convey such respectability (Chris Robinson, Letters, June 26).
Chris is clearly 'on message' as the BNP has also created a front organisation called the Christian Council of Churches to defend "traditional Christian values".
However, all the mainstream Christian denominations in the UK condemn the BNP as a racist party, so I wonder where the BNP gets its theological insights from?
Chris Robinson also failed to mention that if you were black (and British) and supported the BNP's supposed non-racist policies you would nevertheless not be allowed to join the BNP on the grounds of race.
At the heart of the BNP ideology are some wacky views on race which have worrying similarities with the wacky racial views of the Nazis. Is the BNP racist? Is the pope a Catholic? To quote a Marillion song of the 1980s: "This is a resurrection we can't allow..... You know we have six million reasons".
