SCHOOLS in Lincolnshire have received a national award for transforming their food culture.
The Food for Life Partnership gave the awards to schools that served seasonal school meals, prepared by a well-trained cook.
Among the schools to receive the prize was Billingborough Primary School.
Healthy school co-ordinator Andrea McCormack said: “We consulted with the children regarding lunchtimes and have made changes to improve the lunchtime experience.
“We believe that everyone deserves to have the opportunity to have knowledge of the impact of food on health and that of the planet.
“We hope that the knowledge the children are gaining will lead to a healthy lifestyle.”
