Thanks for making our fair such a success

The organisers of the Castle Bytham Midsummer Fair would like to extend their thanks to the Grantham Journal for all the wonderful publicity we received prior to our event on June 21.

The organisers of the Castle Bytham Midsummer Fair would like to extend their thanks to the Grantham Journal for all the wonderful publicity we received prior to our event on June 21.We met numerous people who were visiting us for the first time because they had read about the fair in the Journal and on its excellent website, and we're sure this contributed greatly to us having our best year yet. While on the subject of gratitude, we'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who helped to make this year's event such a resounding success.

The Fair simply wouldn't happen without the generosity of people from our own and neighbouring villages who donate prizes for the tombola, sponsor the various attractions and bake cakes and savouries for the village hall caf. Then there are those who give of their time prior to and on the day to ensure that everything runs smoothly and that everyone - visitors and stallholders - have the best possible time.

We were extremely lucky with the weather this year, but more than that, we count ourselves very fortunate to be able to call on such a great band of people - thank you all so much.

We've received an impressive number of letters from people telling us how much they enjoyed the day - one family even made the trip from Lincoln! Just knowing that folks had a great time makes all the hard work worthwhile and provides just the impetus we need to tackle it again next year - we hope we'll see you there on June 20, 2010.
