A PARISH councillor has resigned as chairman over a plan to build a new pavilion.
Victoria Strauss stood down from the role at Folkingham Parish Council during a meeting on Wednesday, following a majority vote in support of plans for a pavilion on Folkingham playing field.
Disagreements between the council and a village fund-raising committee had surfaced over a lease agreement, which were ironed out at the meeting and the build will now go ahead.
Also discussed on Wednesday was an accusation of intimidating villagers who had voted in support of the pavilion plan at a previous meeting. It was said that residents had been visited at home and asked for an explanation of their vote.
Simon Turner was appointed as chairman.
