Grantham College students are helping to promote National Voter Registration Day on Thursday, February 5, by encouraging young people to make the most of their right to vote.

The day is part of a UK-wide week of national action (February 2-8) to inspire young people to register, and make them aware that the law has changed and each individual is now responsible for their own registration.

South Kesteven District Council is working with the college to produce a schools pack which will include films and information to help raise the profile of the Bite the Ballot Campaign, which encourages people to register before the April 20 deadline so they can vote in the district and parliamentary elections on Thursday, May 7.

Young people can get involved in the campaign by looking at videos, games and information on the www.bitetheballot.co.uk website or by following on Twitter @BiteTheBallot #NVRD or on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/bitetheballot

SKDC is also supporting the campaign by making sure it is publicised through our social media channels. Follow us on Twitter @southkesteven or on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/southkdc
