You can now raise cash for Grantham Foodbank, which provides food for disadvantaged people in the district, when you shop online.
A new scheme called ‘Give as you Live’ allows internet shoppers to donate to their favourite charity every time they buy from thousands of participating stores.
To take part, type www.give.as/charity/grantham-foodbank/ec176917 into your computer’s browser and register on the Give as you Like website.
Then search for the retailer you want to buy from or search for a product and compare prices across 4,000 online retailers. And when you buy something money will be gifted to the town’s foodbank.
Elaine Hume, a volunteer fundraiser for the foodbank, said: “Give as you Live enables anyone that shops online to give to their preferred charity without it costing them a penny.
“When people shop online via this website the company that you purchase goods from sends a donation to Grantham Foodbank, which costs the shopper nothing.
“We’ll email shoppers within one to seven days to let them know how much they’ve raised and we hope they will tell friends, neighbours and colleagues to do so too.”
