Families were invited along to an open day at the weekend hosted by Grantham Town Football Club.
Organised by the club’s community champion Counillor Ian Selby, the event aimed to strengthen community ties with the Gingerbreads.
As well as activities for children and stalls to browse, visitors were invited to stay and watch the team play Blyth Spartans in the afternoon, free of charge.
Coun Selby said: “There was a wonderful atmosphere at the event, and I’d like to express my thanks to all the stallholders that attended.
“A special thank you to the police and 47F RAF cadets who are always a great help. Also to my parents, Anita and John Selby, who organised the tombola, and also to Lauren Farrow and Ricky Rickett for their help.
“A lot of people have said to me how much they enjoyed the occasion, which makes all the effort worthwhile.”
