A memorial bench has been unveiled in memory of a former teacher of Kesteven and Grantham Girls’ School, who passed away last year.

Viv Pickup was a highly-respected and successful teacher of German at the school between 1988 and 2005.

Her husband, David, presented the school with a carved bench to commemorate Viv’s time at the school.

Headteacher David Scott, who worked with Viv for many years, said: “I’m delighted that the school will have a lasting memory of Viv, who had made such an impact on the lives of her students whilst she was at KGGS. Many former students have contacted the school asking for their condolences to be passed on to Viv’s family.”
