THE family of a 101-year-old woman held a special party to make up for the previous year.
Kitty Greer, a fomrer clerk at Grantham Hospital, turned 101 on Monday and her family came down from the north-east to help her celebrate at Chandos House in Grantham.
A sudden illness in early 2010 meant Kitty had to spend her big birthday in hospital so her family were keen to make her 101st extra special.
Niece Margaret Snape travelled down from Hexham. She said: “It is a bid day for the family and especially for Kitty. I think she was a bit overcome but enjoyed it.”
A buffet was held in Kitty’s honour and Mayor Rob Hearmon and the Mayoress visited
Margaret said: “They were wonderful.” Kitty is pictured with great niece Shelly Pipe.
