Prayers were said for the family of Margaret Thatcher during a Sunday service at ChristChurch in Grantham.

The service at the Methodist church was led by the Rev Jane Campbell, and special mention was given to a lecturn which was dedicated by Baroness Thatcher in 1970 during a visit to the church, in Finkin Street. It was given in honour of her father Alfred Roberts, who had died earlier that year. He had been a lay preacher.

Among the congregation at Sunday’s service were students from Harlaxton College, who have attended Sunday morning services at ChristChurch over the past year of their studies at Harlaxton Manor.
