A Grantham man who has turned 50 is to take on his first triathlon later this year.
Steve Winter will take part in the Super Sprint version of the London Triathlon which will include a 400m swim, a 10km cycle ride and a 2.5km run.
Steve, a musician and qualified beach lifeguard, is running in support of Parkinson’s UK as his father, Geoff, has the disease.
Steve, a father of two who lives in Gonerby Hill Foot, said: “I ran a marathon when I was 18 but not since.
“I have not done a triathlon before.I really don’t know what to expect.”
Steve’s sister Helen raised £2,000 for the Parkinson’s charity when she did a charity abseil.
You can donate to Steve by going to his fund-raising page at Stephen-Winter1. He is hoping to raise at least £450.
