As the summer holiday approaches, young people are being encouraged to make the most of CallConnect.

Schoolchildren and teenagers can travel on the service for free on Mondays, in an initiative launched to help young people living in rural areas keep in touch with friends.

Lincolnshire County Council runs the CallConnect service, which allows anyone to book a journey.

CallConnect manager Paul Sanders said: “All teenagers look forward to the summer holiday but that can wear off pretty quickly if you live in a rural area and getting anywhere, and certainly to see your mates, takes time and organisation.

“We hope that young people all over Lincolnshire will make use of our distinctive purple buses to get them where they want to go in the forthcoming holiday.”

The Monday Miles initiative takes place between Monday, July 29, and Monday, September 2.
