THE family of a man who collapsed and died at St Wulfram’s last weekend have paid tribute to the 44-year-old.

Doctor Richard J. Gill, 44, was youngest son of Mrs G. B. Gill and the late Peter Gill.

His brother, Robin Gill, described Richard as a “devoted son” who resided with his mother in Lodge Way, Grantham.

Dr Gill was educated at the King’s School, Grantham and went on to study at the University of Sussex where he achieved a bachelor of arts with honours and master of the arts in social and political thought with distinction. He then went on to attain a doctorate in philosophy.

As well as being a keen and enthusiastic photographer and guitar player, he had a particular knowledge and expertise on the life of G. K. Chesterton and had a book published about the writer in the United States.

He will be sorely missed by his mother, family and friends.
