In the past two nights two burglaries have occured while householders were at home.

Both properties are in areas backing on to hills and hollows, and in both cases the burglars entered between the hours of 8pm and 10pm through insecure windows and doors.

The first incident took place between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Monday, May 19, with the offenders seeming to gain access to a house on Woodlands Drive through an insecure back door.

An iPad and a black leather briefcase were stolen.

The second incident was reported at a bungalow in Cold Harbour Lane on Tuesday, May 20.

It is thought to have occured between 8pm and 10pm, again while the householders were at home, with the offenders sneaking into the property through an insecure window.

Various items of jewellery were taken in this burglary, including a gold necklace with a St. Christopher and heart-shaped pendant attached, a pendant engraved with “always”, a silver ring with a gold shell-shaped decoration, and a gold-coloured elasticated strap watch.

Officers are urging people to remember their home security and not to leave any doors or windows unlocked or insecure, as offenders will take any opportunity to gain access to properties even if you are at home.

They are also reminding the public to close and lock all doors and windows, especially in this current hot weather.

Anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area during the evenings of May 19 and May 20, or who saw or heard anything relating to the incidents, is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101 quoting incident 525 of 19/05/2014 and 498 of 20/05/2014.
