Firefighters continue to tackle a blaze at the recycling plant Environcom in Spittlegate Level, Grantham, this evening.
A spokesman for the company told the Journal that nobody was reported hurt in the blaze and that the fire service had accounted for everybody.
The fire started soon after 8pm and sent a large plume of thick black smoke across the town. It is believed that part of the plant has been affected, rather than the whole site.
One Environmcom worker, who was not on shift at the time, said near the scene: “There were no big explosions so that’s a good sign.”
A former worker said they no longer worked at Environcom but had been at the former premises in Grantham which had been totally devastated by a fire several years ago.
Spittlegate Level remains closed as fire fightrers tackle to blaze.
