Bears given to children involved in road traffic collisions to keep them calm are in short supply, and volunteers to make more are being sought.
The ‘Angel Bears’ were made free of charge by a charity with a network of knitters but that charity has folded, leaving Lincolnshire Police without a supply.
The force’s community safety department is appealing for knitting clubs or individuals to form a volunteer base that will provide the annual supply of 500.
It is hoped volunteer knitters will be able to boost the stock ready for September 2014.
