GRANTHAM Railway Society chairman Phil Mason is gearing himself up for a busy weekend with the opening of Grantham Rail Show’s Model Railway Exhibition on Saturday.
Mr Mason is hopeful of another bumper crowd for the two-day event which this year has switched to Walton Girls’ High School, off Harlaxton Road.
Mr Mason said: “It is the 25th anniversary this year and I have been involved for well over 30 years.
“There’s going to be a dozen working model railways of various gauges as well as stalls selling components and other bits and pieces and demonstrations.
“We usually get quite a good turnout.”
As owner of Cottesmore Press in Stuart Street, Mr Mason is able to publish his own pre-show publicity fliers and any readers who have seen this year’s will notice the Grantham Rail Show logo, designed by a certain Terry Shelbourne.
