There has been a sensational £200 bid to own an England cricket star’s shirt, signed by all his team-mates, and help the Grantham Journal Children’s Fund.
Luke Wright, a star all-rounder of the England T20 and one-day sides, has donated his shirt to support our fund after playing in it against New Zealand on June 25 at the Oval.
There is also a signed copy of the match programme.
The bid is the first we have received, but meets the reserve price put on this unique piece of memorabilia. We will keep the auction going.
We are running a silent auction for our readers to put in sealed bids for the shirt, pictured right. Luke, who scored 52 runs and took two wickets at the Oval, has signed the shirt together with all the other members of the 14-man squad including Kevin Pietersen, Chris Oakes, Eoin Morgan, Alex Hales and Ravi Bopara.
To be in with a chance of owning Luke’s shirt, write your bid on a piece of paper together with your name, address and daytime telephone number and send it to: Silent Auction, Grantham Journal. 46 High Street, Grantham, Lincs, NG31 6NE.
