Church should seek grants for repairs

WITH the best will in the world the congregation cannot possibly raise the monies needed to repair their church tower without financial assistance of one sort or another.

St Wulfram’s Church is over 700 years old and as such surely is a Grade 1 listed building under the National Heritage Trust and must therefore be entitled to financial aid. Has Canon Andrews applied for a lottery grant under their conservation funds?

However, the monies must be found sooner rather than later because the condition of the tower will deteriorate further and will become in danger of collapse, and I’ve no need to tell you that would be on a magnitude similar to that of 9/11.
