Have your say

I think Peter Clawson’s recent piece on immigration is largely correct, but his concluding paragraph is mistaken. He writes, “Those responsible for most of this (immigration) . . . namely the aforementioned EU, would also dearly love to take over our country”.

The EU is not primarily responsible for causing immigration. The main culprit is the United States, because it’s US foreign policy that caused the ongoing holocaust in the Middle East, and it’s US foreign policy that created the civil war in Ukraine. This foreign policy has been almost entirely supported by our own government. The awful genocide happening in Africa right now, where at least six million people are thought to have been killed in the Congo alone, is largely attributable to old European colonial powers – mainly Britain and France. The US is certainly also complicit, as is the monstrous regime ruling Occupied Palestine.

Most of the immigrants making the recent headlines are of African and Middle Eastern origins, therefore it’s pretty obvious to see that the main reason they’re emigrating is not to “sponge off our benefits” or “nick all our jobs”, as the gutter press would have people believe, but because their homes, families and countries have been destroyed with the active involvement and or complicity of our very own government.

As for Eastern European immigrants, the cause is pretty much the same, but it goes back further in time.

The socialist experiment that properly began with the Russian Revolution has been bitterly opposed by western governments for almost a 100 years, and a state of war existed between east and west for most of that time. The socialist experiment never failed, it was eventually murdered by the west. The visible victims of that tragedy are East European immigrants.

As for the EU wanting to “take over our country”, I don’t know what to say. Surely Peter knows that Britain is already in the EU, and has been for quite a long time?

If people want immigration to end they should first demand that our own government stops being involved in the destruction of other people’s countries.
