To the residents of Manthorpe village, Manthorpe estate and all associated roads; to the mums and dads who try to deliver their children each morning to Cliffedale Primary school or the Priory Ruskin Academy; you have only until January 28 to register your objections to the proposed development of initially 550 homes on the land north of Longcliffe Road.
The planning officer needs you to describe the chaos on the roads during rush hour. Do not leave this task to someone else – the more evidence the better.
You know from first-hand experience the problems during the morning rush hour, so let him know.
Do not let the developers’ transport management plan be the only input. This plan implies that the addition of 550 homes in the area will not have any significant impact on the roads in the area.

It is also proposed to open up new junction with the estate along Belton Lane and connect the other end with Longcliffe Road, thereby additionally creating a short-cut between Belton Lane and Longcliffe Road so that traffic from Belton Lane can avoid the junction with the A607 (and, incidentally, add to the already heavy demand on the Longcliffe Road junction with Manthorpe Road.)
